Spent some time in Chicago with my good friend Adrian from back home - who I hadn't seen in three years. Adrian is a talented artist and he's opening up a gallery - check out his work at lazerhappy.com. He took me all around Chicago.
We went to the most amazing exhibit I've ever seen called BodyWorlds at the Museum of Science. Here's a blurb from the website: "In this eye-opening exhibition, guests learn about anatomy, physiology and health by viewing real human bodies that have been preserved with special plastics through the process of “plastination.” The exhibit’s 200 authentic human specimens—including entire bodies, individual healthy and diseased organs, and transparent body slices—give the general public an inspiring, rare view of the many layers and systems under the skin, and make clear the relationship between healthy lifestyles and healthy bodies."
So basically, you're looking at lots of dead people who have been "plastinated" in different ways. There's one guy who's holding his skin (you can really see how heavy it is!), one dude who's "playing chess" but his skull is wide open... and LOTS of other cool things. I highly recommend going to see this - it's absolutely mindblowing! |
