Went to visit Okie (Jon) in his hometown of Henryetta, OK. Flew into Dallas, where local Ana took us to Billy Bob's, the World's Largest Honky Tonk, to have the quintessential Texas experience. Although we arrived too late for the indoor rodeo, we got there in time to see Pat Benatar (apparently a famous 80's singer) play. The best part? Instead of a disco ball, there was a disco saddle!

The next morning we drove to Henryetta and I was treated to a excellent home-cooked meal by Granny. I met the whole family and Okie's mom (aka Okma/Julie) showed me some great pictures of Okie when he was younger. Then, we went to visit Okie's paternal grandparents, Nana and Papa, and joined them for the unique experience of Pentecostal church service. Lots of things were pretty amazing about that church, not the least of them being the intricate beehives in which the ladies tied up their hair. For the life of me I couldn't figure out how they did it and how long it took them... and I'm sure they were thinking the same about my hair.

Chilled with Okie's sister Adria - who's exactly like Okie, just a few years younger and female - and her friend Gina. Visited Okie's family's brand new tractor store.

Drove to Okie's current residence in Tulsa, which is located in such a sketchy neighborhood that its already been broken into several times. Partied that night and barely made it to the Dallas airport in time the next morning.
