As soon as I turned 18, I bought a one-way ticket to Katmandu and spent the ensuing ten months traveling throughout Asia. One day I'll scan the rest of my pictures.
October-November: Stopoff in Iceland and Amsterdam on the way to Katmandu, Nepal. One month trek through the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp. A week in Pokhara (kayaking, motorcycling, hiking, and learning the Tibetan thangka art), another week in the jungles of Chitwan, and a stopoff at Buddha's birthplace (Lumbini) before heading overland to India.
December-February: three months in India, including Varanasi, Agra (Taj Mahal), Delhi, Goa, Hampi, Bangalore, Kochi, Kanyukamari, Bikaner, Rishikesh, Khajuraho, Calcutta, and a month in Rajasthan.
March: Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand.
April-June: Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia.
July: Australia, Malaysia, Singapore.
