I haven't updated this section in many years, but I've still been travelling! Most of my photos are on flickr. You can check out pictures from my 2008 trips to San Francisco, Jordan and Israel; from my 2009 trips to Romania, London, Athens, Bulgaria, Serbia, and California; from my 2010 trips to Iceland, Greenland, and Serbia; from 2011 trips to Qatar, Amman, Serbia and Hungary.

Costa Rica and Nicaragua (Volcano Boarding) (2007)

Brief stop in Costa Rica before heading overland to León, Nicaragua. Spent a week on volcano Cerro Negro, writing/photographing/filming a crazy sport called volcano boarding.

Iceland/Spain/France/UK (2007)

A week in Iceland over New Years with my Icelandic friends; a long weekend in Paris; one month studying Spanish (and living with a family) in Madrid; several excursions in Spain; and a long weekend with friends in London.

Prague (2006)

October 2006.

Trekking the Lycian Way, Turkey (2006)

Istanbul and total solar eclipse (3/26/06) in Antalya. Then, a month-long, 500-km trek along Turkey's southwest coast. Camping on beaches and trails, drinking water from springs and wells, and buying food from villages along the way.

Morocco (2006)

One month travelling throughout the country. Road-tripping around the south and middle (Essaouira, Marrakesh) with Rich Davies. Wandering the Atlas Mountain region with Aaron. New Years in the Sahara. Roaming the Rif Mountains with Abdul.

Cambridge, UK (2005-2006)

One year spent studying at Peterhouse at Cambridge University... including pictures from the college itself, the trashy pub where I worked, the London Decom party, and the Peterhouse May Ball.

Midwestern United States (2005)

A summer in Iowa City, working in the neurology department at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Spent a few weekends traveling around the midwest: learning about farms, cornfields, tractors, guns, honkey tonks, and Pentecostal churches.

Cycling Mexico (2005)

A six week solo cycling journey across Mexico, from Cancun to Manzanillo. Self-planned and self-funded.

Tran Siberian Railroad/Burning Man/California (2004)

7-day train from Moscow to Beijing. Side trips in Moscow, Irkutsk and Ulan Bator; tour of the Gobi Desert; a week in Beijing.

Followed by California road-trips, Burning Man, and Yosemite.

Egypt (2004)

One month over New Years: pyramids at Cairo, tours of Siwa and the Western Desert, crusing down the Nile, Aswan, Luxor, and resting on the beaches of Dahab. Brief trip up to Eilat, Israel.

Around the World: Iceland, the Netherlands, Nepal, India, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore (10 months, 2002-2003)

Probably the best decision I ever made in my life. Most of my pictures are not scanned -- except for a few from a motorcycle tour of northern Vietnam and a trip through the Australian Outback.
